ENROLLMENT PROCESS

  1. CONTACT US 

  •  Use www.seacadets.org to put in your info and see what units are closest to you. Not all may be accepting new     cadets and many only accept in spring and fall.

  •  Use our link on contact us and we'll get back to you.

  • We are all volunteers splitting our time between work, family and NSCC - but we do our best to get back to you in 72 hrs of submission. Check your email and messages for our response.

  • We accept emails and questions thru the year, but only process new cadets from Jan-Feb for a March start, and June-July for August start.

  2. ASK QUESTIONS

  • We will give you an overview of the program and some of our requirements. If you think of more questions reach out.

  • Sea Cadets isn't for everyone. It's not a solution to drop a problem child. We are fast paced, we move with a purpose. Cadet need to be self motivated to complete at home coursework, prepare for drill, practice at home and communicate via email. If the cadet and family isn't committed to the time and program it wont work.

  3. ATTEND ZOOM INTEREST MEETING AND INTERVIEW WITH CO (IN        PERSON OR VIRTUAL)

  • We are located on a secure base and the logistics of meeting on base ahead of time is complicated. We will arrange a few zooms to meet you, and invite you to any offsite drills or events so you can meet us in person.

  • In the interview we are looking for cadet and parent interest and commitment as it takes a team to make this all work successfully. We'll ask questions about the cadet's interest, work ethics and independence.

  4. FILL OUT AND TURN IN PAPER WORK

  • See below for details.

  • All paperwork should be scanned and emailed to Unit Officers.

     5. MAKE PAYMENT

  • We accept check, paypal and venmo

 6. TAKE ID PHOTO

  • We will need a head shot for the ID card to process the recruit. This is a against a white wall in a solid colored shirt.

7. ISSUED GEAR

  • We will supply the majority of your uniform needs.    

  • You  will need to purchase additional supplies.

8. ONLINE Register to QUARTERDECK

  • Cadets and parents will be supplied with a login ID and password.

  • Parents must upload completed documents.

  • Cadets will begin coursework.

9. Attendance is required for your first 3 months of drill to complete Recruit Orientation.

  • We only have 6 days over 3 months to prepare your cadet for recruit training so all days are required.

  • Homework, practice and preparation at home is required to ensure success.

YOU ARE NOW ENROLLED!!

These forms below are part of the required paperwork to join our program. These can be emailed to our adult staff ahead of time (especially if pending medical forms) to speed along the process. The process for enrolling is listed above so you know where you are in joining us. These forms will be uploaded by the parent online in their parent portal after the unit receives a physcial copy.  If you have any questions please contact us for guidance. NSCADM001: CADET APPLICATION (FULL): Full Application including all pages. Last page is to be filled out by the parent to                                                                       gauge their support for the unit.

NSCADM001: MEDICAL HISTORY  -Used for initial medical history report. Parents update in Magellan before each training. Honest answers as this will not exclude from enrollment or service.

MEDICAL INSURANCE & IMMUNIZATIONS SECTION SHOULD SAY "SEE ATTACHED" as you will be providing a copy of

 these items separately. Insurance cards will also be uploaded by parents in Magellan. Any time immunizations are done a new copy is required to be uploaded.

NSCADM001: MEDICAL EXAM    - Used yearly and must be signed by your primary care physician or a licensed doctor. These are valid for maximum of 15 months from date of exam. Failure to stay in compliance will be subject to removal.

NSCADM001: PARENTAL SUPPORT FORM     -Used to help gauge the interest of parents and the level of support they 

                       can give. Please add any hobbies or skills in the empty space provided. If willing to join as an Adult

                       leader please reach out to one of our staff members who can assist in the next steps. 

OTHER DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

COPY OF INSURANCE CARD (FRONT AND BACK):    This is so we can correctly bill your insurance if something were to happen. When a new insurance is updated please provide this asap. If you have TRICARE, you will need to obtain a letter of coverage from them. If you do not have insurance, you must sign a Letterhead provided by us that you accept all costs involved.
